@Regrann from @attitudemag - Today marks 48 years since the death of Judy Garland. She remains the biggest gay icon of all time. Her appeal stretches beyond The Wizard of Oz. When being gay was a crime, Judy Garland shows were places gay men could gather and feel safe. In the play 'As Time Goes By', a character explains why Judy's story resonates with gay men: 'I loved her because no matter how they put her down, she survived. When they said she couldn't sing; when they said she was drunk; when they said she was drugged; when they said she couldn't keep a man … When they said she was fat; when they said she was thin; when they said she'd fallen flat on her face. People are falling on their faces every day. She got up.' - #regrann
