Employee blogs--the new legal frontier | News.blog | CNET News.com

OK, as a former law student, I think it's a good idea for companies to have written policies covering the use of employee blogs. But I don't think that the policies should so prohibit an employee from posting negative information about the company, provided it's both true and that it specifically states that it's the employee's personal opinion. Kind of a freedom of speech type of thing.

But I do think that companies should be allowed to limit information posted on employee's blogs that is sensitive or confidential. Additionally, I don't think that employees should be allowed to post personal attacks against others on their blogs.

What do you think about employee blogs, and what do you think the guidelines should be?
